Homemade Lip Balm Recipes

Lip balm is very essential to prepare because it helps you in applying in the winter season. Making lip balm is not so difficult so as to prepare it yourself; you can make it with the natural ingredients that are 100% pure. Most of the people have the botanical garden outside your house in which the natural herbs would be picked out. Some of the important homemade remedies are as follows:

1.  Coconut Rose Lip Balm

Things you will need
  • Take 1/8 cup coconut oil, easily available at grocery stores or health stores.
  • 1/4 cup of beeswax that can be avail at craft stores.
  • 1/8 cup of shea butter that would be available at health or craft stores.
  • Coconut or vanilla extracts 1 tsp.
  • 1/4 cup of rose fresh rose petals.
  • 1 tsp of sweet almond oil available at craft stores.

Method for Preparation
  • Take a small sauce pan or pyrex container, pour all the ingredients according to the measurements have shown above.
  • Place a sauce pan on the low flame of heat until everything substance in the container becomes melted properly.
  • If you are using a microwave oven then heat it in 30 second intervals until it becomes completely melted.
  • Strain the rose petals.
  • Pour the mixture in the disinfected containers.
  • Let the mixture cool down completely then it will be ready to use.

Things you will need
  • Peppermint oil 8 drops.
  • 2 tbsp of carrier oil that could be almond oil which will help in diluting the peppermint oil from a burn.
  • Beeswax pellets 1tbsp.
  • Glass dropper.
  • Glass jar.
  • Containers.
  • Lipstick shavings for a hint.

Method for Preparation
  • Put the 2 tbsp of carrier oil in the one tbsp. of beeswax in the glass jar then close the lid.
  • Place the glass jar in a pot and heat it up with water on medium-high flame until the beeswax is melted.
  • After that, remove the jar from the pot and stir the mixture.
  • Add only 8 drops of peppermint oil with a dropper otherwise the too much of its quantity will burn your lips.
  • If you want your balm to be colored, then stir it into your lipstick shavings until you see that your desired color is achieved.
  • Quickly pour the mixture into your containers.
  • Let it stand for two hours until it becomes hardened.

3.  Hemp and Honey Lip Balm

Things you will need
  • 15gm beeswax.
  • 10gm carnauba wax.
  • 10gm cocoa butter.
  • 5gm shea butter.
  • 20ml almond oil.
  • 5ml hemp oil.
  • 10ml manuka honey.
  • 8 drops of citrus essential oil.

Equipment
  • Double boiler.
  • Metal spoon.
  • A glass jug (small).
  • 12 lip balm tubes.
  • A kitchen scale for weighing your ingredients.
  • Milk frothier.

Method for Preparation
  • In a double boiler, add beeswax, carnauba wax, cocoa butter and shea butter and mix them all together along with the almond oil.
  • Now add hemp oil and honey then stir it with the short intervals of time.
  • Remove it from the heat and essential oils. Blend with the milk frothier while the mixture cools but still pourable.
  • Pour the mixture into the tubes and make sure not to touch until it sets.
